Valentines Day Craft Stick Box

Valentines Day Craft Stick Box

Last year my daughter wanted to make something special to give her teacher for Valentines Day.  So we decided that she could make her this Valentines Day Craft Stick Box and then we baked cookies and put them in the box for her.

Because the box is homemade it truly makes a special gift for anyone you choose to give it too.  And the kids are always so happy and proud that they made it.  This box is pretty easy to make and even your preschools should be able to make it with little to no help.  And then they can paint and decorate it with anything they like, we used gems but you can use anything you like.

You can also fill your craft stick box with anything you like.  We filled ours with baked cookies however you can put candies in yours or even a small gift.  This box can also very easily be made taller by just continuing to add more sticks, so if you nee a bigger box to put something in you can make it bigger.

Craft Sticks (amount will depend on how big you want your box)
Glue Stick

Top and bottom of Craft stick boxStart by gluing the bottom of your box & the top of the box.
Do this by laying 12 sticks side by side then gluing 2 sticks to the top of them on the sides to hold them together. They both will look just like the picture above when done.

Building up the sides of the Craft stick boxSet the one you will use as the top aside and start gluing more sticks to make your box.
Do this by gluing two sticks on the vertical sides then glue two sticks on the horizontal sides. The ends of each stick you glue will be touching the ones you previously glued.

Painting the Craft Stick BoxOnce your box is as tall you want it to be. Let the glue dry then you can start painting your box.

Decorate your Craft Stick BoxLet the paint dry and use your gems to decorate your box.

Popsicle sticks! I love it! I could see my daughter using that as like a jewelry box or something for mommy too :) Or maybe for her own. I love this one. I’m going to pin it so I remember for later. Thanks for sharing it with us at Countdown in Style! Don’t forget to stop by Friday to see if you are featured!
