Valentines Day Cookie Pops

Many people think because you have a blog and you craft/cook a lot that you know what you are doing and things are so easy for you.  Well many of us bloggers have no clue what we are doing half the time and just use trial and error until we get it right and then you see our finished product.  Why am I telling you this?  Because these Valentines Day Cookie Pops were our plan B for school valentines this year.  Our original plan was making homemade rock candy, but it did not work out at all and I ran out of time to even try and figure out what I did wrong.  I made 12 jars of stuff to grow rock candy and did not get one to grow. So if you ever feel like us bloggers have it all together just remember we have epic fails too, but you only see our successes on the blogs.

So now on to Plan B, since the rock candy thing did not work out I had to come up with something fun last minute and these cookies were it.  They are so easy to make you can do it in a day (I know because we did).  The best thing about cookie pops is that you can pretty much use any cookie dough you want.  We used our favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe, but you can use  any recipe you like or even store bought cookie dough if you can roll it out.  To frost our cookies we just used some powder sugar mixed with a little milk and food color (you kind of have to play with the amounts till it is as thick as you want), but you can use any frosting you like also.

I made a cute Valentines Day Tag to go with these and we are just going to have the girls write to and from on the back of the tags.  Feel free to use the tags we made if you like, the free printable link is below on your supply list.
