Teacher Appreciation Planter

Tuesday May 7th is National Teacher Appreciation Day.  And I love to show my appreciation for our teachers, and no that is not only because I come from a family of teachers (grandpa, dad, and sister).  It is because I truly feel our teachers do so much for our kids and they deserve a big giant thank you every now and then… okay they deserve a LOT more than that but this is all I got.

My daughter is in Kindergarten this year and as much as I hate to admit it, she has given her teacher a run for her money.  Don’t get me wrong my daughter is a great kid, but she has some issues following directions and rules…sigh we are working on it.  So I wanted to make sure we did something for her teacher this year.  And well as much of a little stinker my big girl is she just loves her teacher and was very excited to make this for her.  Last year she made some cute frames for her preK teachers.

She had fun making the entire project and is so proud she can hardly wait a couple weeks to give it to her.  My daughter picked the color to paint it and all the decorations.  I did pic the picture of her to put in the frame but that is it. I sure hope her teacher will love this and enjoy her fresh strawberries over the summer!

Milk Carton
Craft Sticks
School Glue
Acrylic Craft Paint
Berry Best Printable
1 sheet white Card stock
Foam Letters
Small Wooden Decor Pieces
(we used an Apple, Star, and mini Frame)
Strawberry Plant

Use a craft stick and mark it a little below the top, now mark your milk carton then cut your carton on this line.  You want your carton to be a little lower than your craft sticks so you don’t see it.
Put glue on one side of your carton
 Then add your craft sticks
Keep going till all sides are covered with the craft sticks
Once glue is dry paint your planter any color you like.  My daughter choose blue because she said it was her teachers favorite color!
Printout your Berry Best Teacher Printable then cut it out (works best with white card stock)
Now glue your strawberry to another craft stick.  We used a colored one but you can use a regular one.
Next glue your decoration to your planter
If using a frame like we did, only glue three sides so you can insert picture
Once the glue has dried a little you can add your picture
Now just add your strawberry plant and give to your favorite teacher!
Here is what the other two sides of our planter look like.

I’m just like you. I worry for them, not knowing if they’re ok or not. It’s like losing a friend that you’ve gotten to know, which is sad too. It certainly doesn’t help the “grieving?” process that we keep checking their blog daily, hoping that they’ll write something, anything.

Ya think the fact that his mom put him and his sister into foster homes so she could go pursue a graduate degree might have had something to do with it?

So when Jews by land, that land automatically becomes part of Israel, hophmi? Didn’t you just make a rational case for Middle Eastern countries not selling land to Jews out of sheer interests of national security? How about in Europe? Or the United States? Is your land US, or Israel, hophmi?
