Salt Dough Mothers Day Flowers

Mother’s Day is fast approaching and once again because my mother reads this blog and I can not get her to stop this time of year we have to make several Mother’s Day projects so she does not know what she is getting.   So for our first one I thought we would make some Salt Dough Mothers Day Flowers.

I have to say these came out even better than I pictured in my head.  And the girls had so much fun making them, I think the painting was their favorite part.  We made extra dough so the girls got to pick out some other cookie cutters to make different shapes with in addition to the flowers which was a lot of fun for them.

They each actually made some of these for their teachers also.  My oldest made her teacher an apple and my little one made a star and train to give her teachers.  I just love that they are so giving at this age, I hope they are always this way!

These flowers would make a perfect Mothers Day gift for any mom  or grandmother, and they are flowers that will never die!  We made some Salt dough ornaments for Christmas a couple years ago and still use them for Christmas so they last a long time! And since they are homemade and the kids can pretty much make them all on their own they mean so much more than the flowers you buy at the store (at least for me they do!).
